Your Heart’s Cry

I’m seeking You, but You seem so far away. Grace at a distance beckons me to run faster toward the promised peace. The legs of my faith spasm under the stress of hope deferred. Like a good soldier I try to endure, but my strength is failing, and my energy is low. My spiritual breathing is fast and erratic, no longer able to keep up with the demands of living maxed out. I am not prepared for this race. I have not adequately trained for this level of exertion. How far must I run to reach You? What emotional distance must I cross to find myself surrounded by Your love?

Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13 ESV
